Celebrating little wins and big milestones!
I am so so excited to share this because not only has LW started their gym journey recently, but they have grown in confidence and managed to combat their anxieties and complete their first full solo session, in the weights section! 💪
Beyond proud to have been able to play a part!
The best bit, though, is that I've also made a friend! 💕
LW reached out to me after I posted in a 'Gym Buddies' group on FaceBook - I was looking for someone to go to the gym with because I noticed that lots of people seem to go in groups or pairs and I wanted someone to chat with between sets.
Before meeting, LW and I exchanged a few messages back and fourth and when we met we just clicked. It's always a little scary meeting someone from the internet... Luckily, (hopefully they agree!) neither of us are psychopaths!
It turned out that LW had been a paying member of the gym for months but hadn't felt able to complete their first session. I had no idea when we met that this was the case.
Initially, when posting in that group, I hoped that I would find someone to meet up with a couple of times a week. Instead, I have found a true friend and without meaning to, without trying to, helped them start their own fitness journey.
Just as LW is thankful to me for helping them get over their anxieties I am thankful to them. They have truly sparked the fire under me not only become qualified as a Personal Trainer, but to focus on helping individuals who might feel that for whatever reason, they don't belong in a gym, or that it isn't a place they can enter.
